MANILA - Daniel Padilla admitted that his passion for acting grew significantly while shooting scenes for "She's Dating the Gangster", which is now a blockbuster hit.
Padilla said it was the movie's director, Cathy Garcia-Molina, who inspired him to work with passion on the set.
"Si Direk Cathy, isa na siya sa sobrang passionate sa ginagawa niya. Hindi lang 'yung para matapos lang, hindi ba may iba na ganoon? Kasi sobrang minamadali na," he said in an interview on the ABS-CBN morning show "Kris TV" aired on Friday.
"Grabe si direk. So talagang nahiya na rin ako kung hindi ko aayusin," he added.
Padilla went on to say that he felt the dedication of his fellow cast members and crew while working on the film.
"Sobrang passionate ng mga taong nakasama ko," he said. "Hindi lang 'yung kapag nakasama mo parang wala lang, okay lang, ganoon."
"Kris TV" host Kris Aquino, for her part, said Garcia-Molina told her that Padilla has already learned to love his work as an actor.
"In this movie daw, doon niya na-feel kay DJ na mahal na mahal niya ang trabaho talaga... It's not really a job anymore but it's something you are passionate about at gusto mo lalong gumaling," Aquino said.
"She's Dating The Gangster", which also stars Kathryn Bernardo, already earned P260 million, according to Star Cinema.
