MANILA, Philippines – British pop duo Tears For Fears announced on Wednesday that it will give aid to the victims of the massive flooding in Manila.
The official website of Curt Smith, one of the singers of Tears For Fears, issued a statement saying that all proceeds from merchandise sold during their concert will be donated to the flood victims.
“As Curt is in the air right now, I’m posting to let you know that Tears For Fears announced today that they’ll be donating all proceeds from merchandise sales at their August 10 & 11 Smart Araneta Coliseum shows to aid Manila Flood Relief,” the statement said.
Tears for Fears, composed of Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal, will hold a concert on Friday (August 10) and Saturday (August 11) at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Smith, in his official Twitter account, also expressed his love for the Filipinos battling the floods.
“Much love to all my Filipino friends dealing with the devastating weather & floods, we will attempt to bring some good cheer with us,” he tweeted.
The concert will also feature Per Sorensen of Fra Lippo Lippi.
Nonstop rains since Monday triggered flooding in Metro Manila and nearby provinces, affecting more than a million families.
