Robin, Mariel help neighbors in West Fairview

MANILA, Philippines – Television host Mariel Rodriguez chose to help people affected by floods as a way to celebrate her upcoming birthday.

In a series of photos she posted on Instagram, Rodriguez shared that she and her husband, action star Robin Padilla, are doing what they can to reach out to the residents of West Fairview.

West Fairview is one of the areas that was badly hit by deep floods brought by the continuous rains in the past couple of days.

The floodwaters in the area quickly rose, submerging houses and forcing residents to climb to the roofs for safety.

“The start of my bday week! rice, 555 tuna, noodles, skyflakes and nutri go. this is for our neighbors in West Fairview,” Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez said she and Padilla opened the action star’s Liwanag ng Kapayapaan Foundation (LKF) where people can go to ask for help.

“People from west fairview sa LKF lahat humihingi ng tulong. LKF is @robinhoodpadilla 's Liwanag ng Kapayapaan Foundation sana maraming tulad ng asawa ko,” she said.

In her next post, Rodriguez also encouraged people help flood victims.

“we bought grocery supplies like 555 tuna, noodles, rice, nutrigo, chicken and more at puregold in commonwealth for operation kapitbahay. kawawa ang mga tiga west fairview. lets do what we can to help ,” she said.

Aside from Rodriguez, other celebrities took action to help flood victims.

Among them are Anne Curtis, KC Concepcion, Iza Calzado, Bianca Gonzalez, Angel Locsin, John Prats and Sam Milby.
