MANILA -- The full-length trailer for the local release of the Erik Matti crime-thriller "On The Job (OTJ)" gives an extended look at the cast and the relationships of its characters.
Co-produced by Star Cinema and Reality Entertainment, the film will hit Philippine theaters on August 28, three months after its world premiere as part of the Directors' Fortnight section at the 66th Cannes Film Festival.
The film stars Gerald Anderson and Joel Torre as inmates who are temporarily released from jail to become contract killers for corrupt politicians. NBI agents, portrayed by Piolo Pascual and Joey Marquez, meanwhile, are assigned on their trail.
In contrast to its Cannes trailer released in May, the latest preview reel for "OTJ" shows the numerous other cast members and the ties among their characters.
Young actress Empress Schuck is seen as Torre's daughter in the film, Shaina Magdayao is shown as Pascual's girlfriend, while JM de Guzman and Rosanna Roces appear to be family members of Marquez's character.
Other cast members seen in the trailer are Rayver Cruz, Angel Aquino, William Martinez, Michael de Mesa, Leo Martinez and Vivian Velez.
For his role as veteran assassin Tatang, Torre was recently awarded Best Actor at the 17th Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival in South Korea. "OTJ" was also awarded the Jury's Choice honor at the same event.
Following its local premiere, "OTJ" is also set to be released in the United States in the fall by independent distributor Well Go USA.
