10 most watched TV shows in PH for July named

MANILA -- An ABS-CBN program once again topped the list of the 10 most watched shows in the Philippines, according to TV ratings data from Kantar Media for the month of July.

The recently concluded "The Voice Kids," which named 9-year-old Lyca Gairanod as its champion, ranked first with an average nationwide viewership of 33.6% for the month.

The rest of the Top 10 programs were also ABS-CBN-produced, particularly those that air weeknights and weekends on primetime (6 p.m. to 12 midnight).

The hit fantaserye "Dyesebel," which concluded last July 18, placed second with 27.2%. Also in the Top 5, in order, were: "Maalaala Mo Kaya" (26.4%), "Hawak Kamay" (25.9%), and "Ikaw Lamang" (25.4%).

In sixth place was ABS-CBN's flagship newscast "TV Patrol," which averaged 25.3% in audience share. "Mirabella," which concluded last July 4, ranked seventh with (24.4%), followed by "Wansapanataym" (23%), "Rated K" (21.3%), and "Home Sweetie Home" (20.2%).

The strong viewership of these programs bolstered ABS-CBN's overall nationwide rating for the month. The Kapamilya network had an average of 43% in total-day audience share, while GMA-7 and TV5 only registered 34% and 10%, respectively.

ABS-CBN pulled away from its competitors in primetime, with 50% compared to GMA-7's 32% and TV5's 8%.

Kantar Media uses a nationwide panel size of 2,609 urban and rural homes that represent 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population.
