Total day viewership

Aside from dominating the list of the most-watched shows, ABS-CBN also remained on top of the ratings game in July with more Filipinos tuning in to its programs with a total day audience share of 42%.

This is eight points higher than GMA with only 34%, and 32 points ahead of TV5 with only 10%.

ABS-CBN also conquered the primetime block (6 p.m. to 12 midnight) with a recorded audience share of 47%, higher by 14 points than GMA’s 33%.

Primetime is considered the most important timeslot when most Filipinos watch TV and advertisers put a larger chunk of their investment in to reach more consumers efficiently.

Furthermore, the Kapaimilya network ruled the total day viewership garnering an average audience share of 43%, against GMA’s 37% and TV5’s 8% in Balance Luzon (areas in Luzon outside Mega Manila).

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN got 50% versus GMA’s 28% and TV5’s 9% in the Visayas. As for Mindanao, the Kapamilya network got 54% versus GMA’s 25%, and TV5’s 11%.

Kantar Media uses a nationwide panel size of 2,609 urban and rural homes that represent 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population, while the other ratings data supplier AGB Nielsen reportedly has only 1,980 homes based solely in urban areas that represent only 57% of the Philippine TV viewing population.
