Speaking on “The Buzz” on Sunday where she is a host, Gonzales said she does not know what awaits Muhlach in politics.
“Na-shock ako kasi it's something that you never really know. Sabi nga nila magulo ang pulitika. Magulo rin naman sa mundo ng showbiz but I really don’t know what to expect to tell you honestly,” she said.
Gonzales said she just wants to stand by her husband’s decision and support him in his new endeavor as he ventures into politics.
“I just have to live day by day with the best intentions of my heart and to just really try to do the best,” she said.
Last Friday, Muhlach took an oath as a member of the President Benigno Aquino III-led Liberal Party (LP).
Muhlach confirmed to ABS-CBN News last Wednesday that he will be seeking a congressional seat in his family's native Camarines Sur in the 2013 elections.
"Masayang masaya ako na makasama ko sila," Muhlach said of the people of Camarines Sur. "My family's from there, my lola, my dad."
The former matinee idol also said that in seeking the political post, he promises not to tarnish the name he has built as an acclaimed actor and a public figure.
"Sabi ko nga may pangalan naman akong inayos, na hindi ko naman sisirain talaga. All I want to do is to prove to them also na mayroon talagang pwedeng gawin doon," he said.
