Guanio, who hosts the showbiz segment of newscast "24 Oras," announced on Friday that she will be on leave for several months to prepare for the birth of her baby girl, Scarlett Janine.

"Pansamantala po muna akong magpa-paalam para sa aking paparating na baby. I'll see you soon, mga Kapuso, mami-miss ko po kayo," Guanio said as she bid farewell to her viewers.

In January, the former co-host of ABS-CBN's "Magandang Tanghali Bayan" announced the pregnancy, three months after she was married to businessman Steeve Mago in a private ceremony in Ayala Alabang.

With a date of birth expected some time between August 11 and September 3, Guanio's colleagues wished the TV host luck and blessings in anticipation of baby Scarlett.

Actor-host Ryan Agoncillo, Guanio's co-host on noontime show "Eat Bulaga," expressed confidence in her partnership with Mago in preparing for a family life. Married to young superstar Judy Ann Santos, Agoncillo himself is a father of two.

"Pia, I know na napakatapang mo. At huwag ka mag-aalala, nandiyan naman si Steve para alalayan ka every step of the way, and good luck," Agoncillo said.

Fellow GMA talent Jennylyn Mercado, who gave birth to a son in 2008, allayed any worries of Guanio about sustaining the extra weight after pregnancy.

"Sana makabalik ka agad dahil maraming makaka-miss sa iyo, at huwag ka mag-worry masyado sa mga fats at mawawala rin 'yan, at part 'yan ng motherhood," Mercado said.

While Mercado encouraged Guanio to resume her career the earliest time possible, Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez advised the TV host to enjoy her time with baby Scarlett.

"Take your time. Huwag ka muna bumalik sa work. Enjoy your time with the baby. We're praying for you and God bless," said Velasquez, who gave birth to her first son in November last year.

In a surprise appearance in the interview reel, Guanio's husband expressed his excitement over their shared milestone.

"Pia, you've been a caring wife and wala kang katulad. You're a blessing from God, and I'm excited to see the baby and excited to face this new chapter in our lives. I love you, darling," Mago said.
