Celebrity couple Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez in their second honeymoon in Europe

MANILA, Philippines – After spending sometime together in Europe for their second honeymoon, television host Mariel Rodriguez said she is now ready to accept her husband Robin Padilla's, offer to have a church wedding.

In an interview with ABS-CBN Europe News Bureau, Rodriguez said it is Padilla’s dream for them to get married in Catholic rites.

“Gusto niya talaga mangyari ‘yun for me,” she said.

Last April, the celebrity couple put on hold their Catholic wedding after retired Archbishop Oscar Cruz said the Church won’t allow their union because of certain prohibitions under Islam.

Despite this, Padilla has admitted that he and Rodriguez are planning to go to Vatican City and tie the knot there anew.

Padilla married Rodriguez under Muslim rites last August 19, 2010 at the Taj Mahal in India.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez reiterated that they are not yet ready to have a baby.

“Not yet, hindi na naming magagawa ito kapag may baby na kami. Pano na ‘yung baby?” she said.

She also denied reports saying her family and friends are not in favor of their relationship. Rodriguez said they are all supportive of their marriage.

Rodriguez and Padilla headed to Europe on July 28 to visit Amsterdam and Rome.

They also went to Paris for the “Kapamilya Fiesta Caravan Show” on Sunday. – Report from Danny Buenafe, ABS-CBN Europe News Bureau
