MANILA, Philippines -- The tables have turned.
According to actress-host Kris Aquino, her brother, President Benigno Aquino III, has matched her bluntness in a recent speech lambasting Philippine media over "negative" stories.

Often figuring in showbiz headlines over her decades-long career in the business, the youngest Aquino sibling said the recent speech of the President at the silver anniversary celebration of ABS-CBN's flagship newscast "TV Patrol" has somehow made her seem less controversial.
"Times have really changed in three years, kasi ngayon 'pag gusto nila ng speech na 'di controversial, ako na ang pinagsasalita," Kris told ABS-CBN News in jest on Wednesday.
The Aquino siblings were at the Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque City Wednesday morning to commemorate the third death anniversary of their mother, former President Corazon Aquino.
"Kaya sabi ko, 'Ay, how nice.' I'm now the good girl. And ako na 'yung quiet Aquino ngayon, kaya tuwang tuwa lang ako," Kris added.
Having hosted a number of talk shows since the early '90s, Kris is known for her honest and often blunt opinions on live television, as well as during interviews with the entertainment media.
But when her brother became president in 2010, Kris has been cautioned to refrain from voicing out potentially controversial opinions.
This also prompted Kris to quit a number of her professional engagements as a showbiz-oriented talk show host on television.
"Si PNoy na ang outspoken and how tables have turned, na dati ako pinagsasabihan na, 'shush,'" Kris said.
Following his controversial speech last Saturday, where he singled out "TV Patrol" anchor Noli de Castro for supposedly criticizing his administraion during the newscast, the President earned mixed reactions for what is seen as a "scolding spree" on Philippine media's often "unfair" portrayal of the government.
