No boyfriend, only suitors, insists Dionisia
MANILA -- Dionisia Pacquiao is now sharing a home with her boyfriend, according to her son, Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao.
The Sarangani congressman made the revelation in an interview on "Tapatan ni Tunying" that aired Thursday, saying his mother, who is endearing called "Mommy D" in showbiz, even plans to get married to her partner.
Pacquiao was initially hesitant to talk about the romantic relationship of his mother, who turned 65 in May. "Mahirap magbigay ng komento," he said.
However, when quizzed about the identity of the man, Pacquiao offered that he is turning 40 and is a Cebuano. "Kasama nga niya, eh. Kasama niya palagi," he said.
Asked by host Anthony Taberna if Mommy D and her partner are living under the same roof, Pacquiao said: "Kasa-kasama na niya!"
While he leaves the decision of keeping the relationship to Mommy D, Pacquiao, who is an evangelical Christian, said he objects to his mother's intentions to walk the aisle a second time.
"Si Mama at saka si Papa, hindi sila kasal. Si Mama at saka 'yung unang asawa, kasal sila," he said, noting that Mommy D's first husband is still alive.
Mommy D has four children with Rosalio Pacquiao, her partner of 20 years before they separated -- Isidra, Manny, Bobby and Rogelio. She has two older children from her previous marriage.
"Sabi ko, 'Kung kami tanungin mo, ayaw namin ng mga anak mo,'" Pacquiao recalled telling his mother. "Hindi ako nagkulang ng paalala."
However, in a separate interview with ABS-CBN News, Mommy D denied that she has a boyfriend, but said it is "natural" for her to have many suitors.
