MANILA – After she announced that she no longer wants to do sexy roles in her future projects, Cristine Reyes named two celebrities who she thinks are fit to be her "successors."
On the sidelines of the premiere night of her latest movie, "Trophy Wife", on Tuesday, Reyes was asked by ABS-CBN News' MJ Felipe about who she thinks is the proper "heir" to her throne as a sultry actress.
Although hesitant to name anyone in particular at first, Reyes eventually gave in and answered: "It's Lovi Poe and Ellen Adarna."
"Base lang ito sa mga photos na nakikita ko sa Instagram and billboards. Huwag naman magtampo yung iba pero para sa akin, pwede sila. Huwag na natin isali yung mga nag-number one na sa FHM kasi pare-pareho na lang kami," she explained.
Reyes said both Poe and Adarna exude sexiness even without any conscious effort on their part.
"They are super hot kasi makita ko lang yung picture, hindi na nila kailangan mag-emote, magpakita ng skin to be hot and seductive so sila ang best bet ko," she said.
In an interview with "The Buzz" last Sunday, Reyes revealed that her newly rekindled faith is just one of the factors affecting her decision to stop doing sexy films.
She reiterated this on Tuesday, saying, "Nandun na ako sa stage na gusto ko na talaga i-accept [yung faith ko]. To accept it, you have to change some ways, Madadamay talaga yung trabaho ko. Okay lang sa akin kasi I think I’ve had enough [sexy roles]."
Contrary to speculations that her decision was a request of her non-showbiz boyfriend, Reyes said: "It's more of para sa sarili ko. May mga plano lang for myself kasi siyempre hindi naman forever ang showbiz. May mga bagay akong pinaplano na outside showbiz, pero I’m not necessarily quitting."
