MANILA -- Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista returns to his first love -- acting.
Bautista is currently promoting his upcoming film, "Raketeros," with Ogie Alcasid, Andrew E., Dennis Padilla, Long Mejia and Joey Marquez.
In "Raketeros," Bautista plays the character of Berto, a cable guy.
"Masaya ang pelikula at puro matatanda na kami rito," he said.
Bautista went on to share some details about the film's storyline.
"Magbabarkada kami dito. Actually, magkakaklase kami, magkukumpare kami. Along the way, madami nang kalokohang nangyari.
Meanwhile, Bautista made it clear that the movie did not affect his duties as mayor of Quezon City, saying that he did scenes for "Raketeros" on weekends.
"Mga once and twice in a weekend [kami] na nagshoo-shooting. At saka mabilis naman dahil nag-out of town kami [sa] Norzagaray, Bulacan, parang 45 minutes so it's really not that far," he said.
"Raketeros," which is produced by Heaven's Best Entertainment and distributed by Star Cinema, will hit theaters nationwide on August 7.
