MANILA – Dawn Zulueta insisted that she did not need much convincing when she learned that she will be doing physical scenes with Richard Gomez in their upcoming movie, "The Love Affair."

In the movie's uncut trailer, Gomez’s character Vince and Zulueta’s character Tricia had a confrontation after he found out that she had an affair with another man.

During their heated exchange, Vince touched Tricia’s breast and asked her angrily if the man she had an affair with also touched her there.

During the movie’s press conference on Monday, Zulueta said she knew about the scene when she read the script.

"As an actor kasi, you usually take everything in the whole context and you have to understand what the scene is really all about," she started explaining.

"Of course, you as the audience watching it on the trailer, you don’t understand what’s happening on the scene. You only see that part and it shocks you. But if you read the script the way we do as actors and you understand where it’s coming from, what was the scene prior to this and where is it going, you begin to appreciate what happen to the characters," she added.

"As long as I understand the scene and I am comfortable with what I am doing, and I believe in the scene, why it is needed, then I will do it," she stressed.

For his part, Gomez said he asked Zulueta first it was okay for him to touch her there.

"Pinag-usapan namin ni direk kung paano ang gagawin. Tinanong ko si Dawn because it’s very sensitive, that part of the body of Dawn. Sabi ko, ‘Alam ba ito ng asawa mo?’ Siyempre it’s up to her to explain to the husband. Kami naman, we are actors doing our scenes together. I guess napag-usapan nila 'yon," he said.

Joining Zulueta and Gomez in "The Love Affair" is Bea Alonoz. Directed by Nuel Naval, the movie is set to be released in cinemas nationwide on August 12.
