MANILA - Are you wondering why "#Salakota" became the No. 1 trending topic on Twitter worldwide on Tuesday?

During the live episode of "It's Showtime," one of the dancers participating in the "Gandang Lalake" segment amused the audience with her dramatic act.

Named "Salakota" by co-host Vice Ganda, the female dancer was prompted to perform when the contestant picked her among the three "mute" dancers, who each represented an adjective for the question-and-answer portion.

In Gandang Lalake, the dancers come up with unique acts or personalities to show when they are chosen by a contestant. Salakota was no exception, as she broke down in tears while appearing to plant seeds as a farmer.

Shortly after her act, "#Salakota" zoomed up as the No. 1 trend on Twitter locally, and later worldwide, with viewers of "It's Showtime" expressing their amusement with the dancer.

Salakota was not the first so-called "TrabaHandle" to trend on Twitter worldwide, following an amusing performance. Previously, dancers dubbed by Vice Ganda as "Pusoda" and "Bangsina" topped trending topics on the micro-blogging site.
