MANILA, Philippines – Two weeks after his father was laid to rest, actor Vandolph Quizon said he misses everything about Comedy King Dolphy but he knows that he is finally happy from where he is.
In an interview with “The Buzz” on Sunday, Quizon said he loves his father so much that he initially had a hard time accepting what happened.
“I miss my dad so much. Ever since I was a kid hanggang sa paglaki, baby ako noon eh. Kaya medyo nagtago rin ako sa press,” he said.
Quizon said among his siblings, he is really one of the closest to his dad.
“[I will] him, the whole Dolphy. Everything about him, his laugh, his jokes, his love, everything. [I will miss] the way he tells me na ganito dapat porma mo...
But even without his physical presence, Quizon said he is lucky to have an angel close to his heart.
Quizon also said Dolphy has left him the most important life lessons he will never forget.
“Lalo kong mamahalin ang trabaho ko ngayon. Lagi sa akin sinasabi ng tatay ko to just continue making people happy. Ipagpapatuloy ko ang pagpapatawa, ipagpapatuloy ko ang legacy niya,” he said.
“I’ll be a good father like my dad. I’ll just give a good education to my son, magandang schooling na hindi ko rin natapos because of what happened to me,” he added.
Quizon is Dolphy’s son with actress Alma Moreno.
