MANILA – Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista is doing "okay" after Kris Aquino opened up about their failed relationship on “The Buzz.”
In an exclusive interview with entertainment site Pep, Bautista admitted he was not able to watch Aquino as she made her statement but said he's definitely doing fine now.
“Okay naman ako. I don't know if moving on... I just have to work, trabaho lang. I just have to focus sa trabaho at saka, yung sa mga anak ko. Okay na ako ngayon, hindi tulad nang dati," he said.
While stressing that he does not monitor what Aquino says on TV, Bautista admitted that he still treasures their fond memories together.
“Kris is a nice person, she's a good friend. It was a good partnership. If there's one thing good about the Aquinos, they are very loyal persons, very loyal family," he said.
When asked if he still has plans of settling down again, the actor-turned-politician said: “Well, it's not mine. It's not my choice to remain single.”
“I also want to get married. It's really time...yung ano ba talaga? Sino ba? Yung mga ganun. Then, it's work. Sobrang kumain ng time. It would be unfair. I don't know what's in the future. I hope everything would be alright," he added.
Last June 29, Aquino admitted on national TV that she got hurt when she watched Bautista’s “Bandila” interview where he said that he no longer wants to get back with her.
This after the actor-turned-politician previously told her that he will try to work on their relationship.
Despite this, Aquino said she does not regret falling for Bautista because he taught her important lessons.
Aquino closed her statement by wishing Bautista well, adding that she is still hoping that they can still become friends someday.
