MANILA -- Socialite actress Gretchen Barretto on Monday announced that she is set to sign a contract with ABS-CBN soon, which may include plans for a new TV series.
"Mayroong pinag-uusapan pero hindi pa nila na email sa akin so I can not talk about anything yet right now," she told reporters at the launch of her latest endorsement, Karat World.
"Sasabihin ko kapag tuloy na tuloy na. Kasi ang kasalanan ko parati palagi akong nagdadaldal tapos nauudlot. 'Yung 'Alta' naudlot, 'yung 'Princess and I,' hindi naudlot. So I will keep quiet for now," she said.
But what is definite is that Barretto is part of the upcoming star-studded movie, "The Trial," for ABS-CBN's film arm Star Cinema, which she said may be released in September.
The movie stars John Lloyd Cruz, Richard Gomez and Jessy Mendiola, among others.
Barretto said it is a "dream come true" for her to work with Cruz.
"Kilig," she said about Cruz. "I'm really honored dahil sa career ko ngayon, at least I'm getting the chance to work with people that I really admire as far as, of course, their acting skills."
Asked if she will have love scenes with Cruz, Barretto replied: "Hindi naman ganoon. Alam mo nabawasan na ako ng ka-naughtyhan and he's not my age, mahiya naman tayo."
