Actress Cristine Reyes admitted that she had decided to leave behind her sexy image because she wants to become a better role model.
MANILA - Actress Cristine Reyes revealed that her newly rekindled faith is just one of the factors affecting her decision to stop doing sexy films.
In a live interview on "The Buzz" on Sunday, the 25-year-old Catholic admitted that she also wants to be a better role model to her nephews and nieces.
"Right now, parang nafe-feel ko na I want to change something. Number one talaga na nagko-contradict doon is 'yung image ko [na sexy]," she said.
Reyes reiterated that the decision has nothing to do with her non-showbiz boyfriend nor is this a promo stunt for her upcoming film, "The Trophy Wife."
"Siyempre ang number one na maiisip ng mga tao is it is because of my boyfriend pero actually, it is for myself talaga. I'm thinking ahead," she said.
Asked what she meant by "thinking ahead," she replied: "I want to be a good example."
"Everyone knows na sobrang mahal ko 'yung mga pamangkin ko tapos lagi silang naglo-look forward sa akin and they see me doing that [sexy films]. I want to change it for the better," she added.
Reyes also said she is not worried about losing her career over her decision.
She recently placed fifth on the list of the "100 Sexiest Women" in the Philippines, as voted by readers of men's magazine FHM.
"Honestly, walang fear. Kasi I know for sure na mayroon pa rin akong work kahit hindi na sexy. Kahit matagal akong maghintay, okay lang," she said.
