MANILA - Warner Bros. has unveiled the first official look at actress Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, from the upcoming "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" film slated for 2016.
Director Zack Snyder posted on his Twitter account on Sunday the debut image of Gadot as the iconic superhero, after it was unveiled at the annual San Diego Comic-Con in California.
In the photo, the Israeli actress is seen to be holding a sword, ditching the traditional red, blue, and yellow of Wonder Woman for a monotone bronze armor.
The look is more akin to the updated look of Wonder Woman under the "New 52" banner of DC Comics, which sees the superhero in an revamped, Amazonian-inspired costume.
The image comes days after Snyder also posted a new photo of co-star Ben Affleck as Batman, giving fans a closer look at the superhero's cowl.
Dawn of Justice will be Wonder Woman's cinematic debut. It follows the 1975 version of the character, portrayed by actress Lynda Carter, for a television series.
The film will see British actor Henry Cavill reprise his role as Superman, as well as appearances from Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luther, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.
