MANILA -- Darlene Vibares, the "girl on fire," belted out a classic with veteran belter Lani Misalucha on the grand finals of "The Voice Kids".
On the show's live episode on Sunday, the duo wowed the crowd with their performance of the classic "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me."
During the rehearsals, Vibares, who is usually happy and talkative, suddenly became quiet when she learned that she will be performing with the international singer.
"Kaya po ako naging tahimik kasi po na-starstruck po ako kay Ma'am Lani, kasi po international singer po siya eh," Vibares said.
After the performance, Broadway star Lea Salonga praised Vibares on her "best performance."
"I think that was definitely the best performance you've given on that stage. At ipinakita mo, na talagang you will not give up without a fight. [Ipinakita mo] na talagang lumalaban ka, na 'yung puso mo, ay hindi, magpapakitang gilas ako dito, sa stage na ito," Salonga said.
Because of her performance, Salonga said Vibares deserves to win the competition.
"Ipinakita mo, ngayon, na deserving na deserving ka, na maging grand champion ng 'The Voice Kids,'" Salonga said.
