MANILA - The trailer for the "Fifty Shades of Grey" film was released on Thursday, giving fans a first look at the on-screen relationship between Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.
Released online by Universal Pictures, the 2.5-minute clip opens with Grey (Jamie Dornan) meeting Steele (Dakota Johnson) inside his corporate office.
The trailer then shows Grey seducing the college student, providing glimpses of how the budding relationship grows, before concluding with a scene certainly familiar to fans of the book.
It has since gone viral, with the two clips released by Universal and an unofficial YouTube account of the movie garnering more than 10 million views combined.
The phrase "Fifty Shades Of Grey - Official Trailer" and other terms relating to the movie, have been among the top local trends on micro-blogging site, Twitter, since the trailer's release.
Fifty Shades of Grey is an adaptation of the bestselling book of the same name, written by E. L. James.
Since its release, the 'Fifty Shades' trilogy has been translated into 51 languages worldwide and sold more than 100 million copies in e-book and print. A Tagalog version of the book was released early 2014.
