MANILA, Philippines – Actress Mylene Dizon said she’d rather date someone not from showbiz as of the moment after she and her boyfriend, Bamboo guitarist Ira Cruz, broke up.
In an interview with “The Buzz” on Sunday, Dizon said she does not want to speak with finality because nobody really knows what’s in store in the future.
“I can’t say naman na this is really it but I’d rather date muna other people and see what’s out there for me,” she siad.

Dizon said she and Cruz mutually decided to end their relationship and that nothing triggered their break-up.
“Kapag naramdaman niyo naman na talagang hindi na nagwo-work, you just be honest with yourself na alam mo hindi tayo nagwo-work no? Tanggapin niyo na lang kasi the more na you try to make it work and you’re struggling, kapag alam mong dead end, dead end talaga eh,” she said.
Dizon said she does not regret anything because she and Cruz remain friends.
“It just kind of dwindled away. It was a good relationship. I had a good relationship naman with Ira. Ira and I are very good friends. Alam ng mga tao na nagki-click talaga kami. Pero I guess magaling kaming magkaibigan pero as lovers, mayroon siyang hangganan pala,” she said.
Asked what she has learned from their relationship, she said: “That we always have another chance ulit and we should not close our doors and we shouldn’t be jaded about it because love is still a good thing and I feel energized whenever I’m in love.”
Dizon also said she is happy to have more time with her family and children now.
“I am more focused now with my family, my children and my work. This is what occupies my time. I don’t feel like there’s anything missing. I have so much time para sa sarili ko,” she said.
