MANILA -- Generation, a relatively new band composed of sons of OPM stalwarts, have released their self-titled debut album.

The four-man group consists of Joe and Mike Chan, the sons of singer-songwriter Jose Mari Chan, on bass and keyboards, respectively; Kowboy Santos, the son of rock legend Sampaguita, on lead guitar; and Ige Gallardo, the son of singer-actress Celeste Legaspi, on rhythm guitar.

All four members take turns singing lead.

Generation was formed in 2008 and they has been performing in various gigs, playing classics from The Beatles, Doobie Brothers and The Cars, among others.

In 2010, the band began recording its debut album of all-original songs.

The members described their brand of music as "new classic rock" as showcased by its distinct yet melodic compositions, like the album’s carrier single "Love is Killing Me."

The 12-track album, released by ABS-CBN's music arm Star Records, also features the original tracks"Make It Right," "Idol," "Shine Your Light On Me," "Keena," "Star," "Walking A Fine Line," "Can't Be Wrong," "Purple," "He's Gone," "She" and "Just Let Go."
