MANILA, Philippines – “Be Careful With My Heart” lead actor Richard Yap is still unsure if he will be appearing on the big screen anytime soon.
Following the phenomenal success of his morning romantic-comedy show with actress Jodi Sta. Maria, Yap said he will leave it up to the ABS-CBN management if they will give him a movie project.

“As of now I’m still unsure if it’s really happening. No plans yet, I’ll just go with the flow and whatever ABS-CBN gives me,” he said.
Yap said he is just grateful to the televiewers who watch their show every morning.
Yap also gave Sta. Maria the credit for helping him in their scenes. “I should give the credit to Jodi. It’s all Jodi talaga, ako support lang ako dito,” he said.
Based on the latest data of Kantar Media, the rom-com series continues to be the country's No. 1 daytime TV program as it garnered its all-time high national TV rating of 21.7% on July 19. Its newest rival program on GMA 7, "The Baker King: The Big Return" only got 7.1%.
Also on the same day, "Be Careful With My Heart" reached the no. 5 spot of the list of the overall top TV programs nationwide.
Both Yap and Sta. Maria are still overwhlemed by the viewers’ reception of “Be Careful With My Heart.”
Sta. Maria said they never thought they would change the landscape of morning programs.
“Overwhelmed kaming lahat sa ratings na nakuha namin kasi all we wanted lang naman was to give our viewers a different show, ibang routine naman pagdating sa morning. Sabi nga namin basta maka-two digits lang sa morning, happy na kami. Pero we weren’t expecting na ganito kataas ang ratings,” she said.
While Sta. Maria admitted that she had to adjust in doing a romantic-comedy show, she said she is thankful to Yap and their directors who always assist them.
“Siguro para sa akin medyo big adjustment ang role ko as Maya kasi ang orientation ko dramatic talaga eh. Mahirap siguro pagdating sa timing but then sabi nga nung director namin, you just have to listen sa kaeksena mo para maibigay mo ang tamang reaksyon sa soap,” she said.
