MANILA - The superstar coaches of "The Voice Kids" make their case for their respective bets in a teaser for this weekend's highly anticipated grand finals.
Pop star Sarah Geronimo referred to 12-year-old Darren Espanto as a "world-class, total performer," and described 9-year-old Lyca Gairanod as "boses ng masang Pilipino" (the voice of the Filipino masses).
Geronimo is the lone coach to have two artists from her team competing in the finals night; rock icon Bamboo Manalac and Broadway star Lea Salonga will be fielding one hopeful each.
Salonga, in the trailer, said her bet, 10-year-old Darlene Vibares, should win "because she sets ablaze any stage she is on" with her performances.
Manalac, meanwhile, said 13-year-old Juan Karlos Labajo is incomparable because he makes an emotional connection with the audience.
"The Voice Kid's" last two episodes, dubbed "The Final Showdown," will be held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila. They will be telecast live on Saturday at 6:45 p.m. and on Sunday at 6:15 p.m.
