MANILA, Philippines – Fans lauded Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo for her professionalism after she continued to sing despite slipping on stage during a production number.
During the repeat of her birthday concert on Saturday, Geronimo accidentally missed a step and slipped on stage while singing “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” from the musical “Dreamgirls.”
But she immediately got up and continued the song as if nothing happened.
Geronimo’s fans applauded the pop star for her show-must-go-on attitude.
After the show, Geronimo told a pool of reporters that she was hurt by the fall but she said what’s more important is she had a good show.
“May na-skip ako na step sa hagdan. May pasa ng konti pero okay lang. Hindi ko naapakan yung isang step, dumiretso ako. Pero okay lang 'yun, the show must go on. Hayaan na natin at least nag-enjoy tayo and nandito silang lahat para magbigay ng suporta so okay na 'yun,” she said.
Geronimo also thanked those who watched her concert repeat despite the bad weather.
“Forever ko po kayong papasalamatan sa inyo pong walang sawang pag-suporta sa akin kahit pa bumabagyo. Maraming, maraming salamat po,” she said.
Meanwhile, Geronimo was asked if she felt bad that her rumored boyfriend, actor Gerald Anderson, was not around during the second night of her birthday concert.
“Baka may commitment siya or may trabaho. Pero tomorrow maggi-guest po siya sa ‘Sarah G Live.’ Hindi naman niya kailangan magpaalam kung hindi siya makakarating. Siyempre nandito tayo para sa audience natin,” she said.
