MANILA, Philippines – You won't see Megastar Sharon Cuneta backing down from a fight these days.

In recent months, Cuneta has figured in controversies involving her emotional rants posted on micro-blogging site Twitter. Provoked by her detractors' "tweets," Cuneta's outbursts on the site have mostly been a form of retaliation against her critics, and those of her daughter actress KC Concepcion.

Recently, Cuneta's Twitter posts hogged headlines anew as she threatened to "pull a gun" after "seeing red." She was venting her anger which allegedly stemmed from an ongoing dispute over the estate of her late father, former Pasay mayor Pablo Cuneta.

In an interview aired on Saturday, Cuneta explained her recent show of aggression online, saying she has had enough of being bullied throughout her career.

"Hindi po nagiging sensitive as nagiging palaban na. Kumbaga nauntog na ako. Kasi noon kahit anong gawin sa akin lulunukin ko nalang. Parang, move on, move on, move on. Pero 'pag pamilya ko na, ‘pag mahal mo sa buhay, [lumalaban na ako]," she told entertainment talk show "Paparazzi."

'Unsuccessful' show?

Another object of her ire, Cuneta said, are rumors of the cancellation of her daily afternoon talk show, which has been branded as "unsuccessful" by the Megastar's detractors.

Cuneta singled out a person, which she did not name, as having spread "lies" about the status of her show with TV5, which she transferred to in 2011.

"Ako na magbubukas nito. Gusto ko nang linawin eh, at alam naman natin 'yan, na parang masisibak na 'yung show in a month, na mayroon na raw hinahandang ibang show na papalit.

"Siya rin ho ang nagsabi na sa napakalaking news daw na lumipat ako sa channel 5 ng kung anu-ano, 'yun pala nag-decide daw 'yung mga boss na once a week nalang 'yung show ko gagawin, 'di everyday," Cuneta said.

The Megastar, pertaining to the said rumors, pointed out that her show is in fact enjoying a daily programming schedule.

"So lahat mali, lahat sinungaling," Cuneta said. "Tapos this time, hindi ko alam kung sino 'yung source niyang mali. Ano ba source niya, Pasig river?"

Cuneta's talk show, in the face of rumors of cancellation, continues to air weekdays during its afternoon timeslot.

Likewise, her loyal fans continue to show support for the Megastar on the same platform she has used to lash back at her critics.

Addressing her followers, Cuneta said recently: "Thank you for making me smile. Your prayers and sweet messages are helping me thru this most unexpected, difficult time. Thank God for Kiko and my children too. God is good. I miss and love you all. Have a wonderful day. God bless us today and always."
