MANILA - The Coco Martin-starrer "Ang Probinsyano" remained the most watched show in the country on Tuesday as it continued to shrug off the challenge of a new rival show on GMA-7, according to data from Kantar Media.
The action-thriller based on the 1997 Fernando Poe Jr. film of the same name garnered a nationwide rating of 44.2 percent, more than doubling that of "Encantadia." The returning fantaserye only managed to score 19.6 percent.
On Monday, "Ang Probinsyano" garnered a nationwide rating of 42.4% against the 21% of the pilot episode of "Encantadia."
Since its debut back in September, "Ang Probinsyano" has been consistent in breaking the 40-percent mark, the highest being when it breached 46 percent last February 2. The recent episodes has Cardo (Martin) trying to subdue a hired gunman who targets high-ranking police officials, played by Cesar Montano.
"Dolce Amore," another primetime offering of ABS-CBN, also kept its stranglehold on second. The Tuesday episode, which saw lead characters Tenten (Enrique Gil) and Serena (Liza Soberano) meet again following the death of Giancarlo (Matteo Guidicelli), garnered 35.7 percent.
