MANILA – The latest big screen team-up of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla is now officially a blockbuster hit after it breached the P100-million mark less than a week since its release.

The news was announced by Star Cinema’s advertising and promotions manager, Mico Del Rosario, via his Instagram account on Sunday.

“To God Be The Glory! #shesdatingthegangster broke the P100M mark! Congrats #teamgangster at maraming salamat po sa lahat ng nanonood,” he said.

“She’s Dating the Gangster” opened in theaters nationwide last Wednesday as typhoon Glenda battered parts of the country, including Metro Manila.

This, however, did not faze the fans of Bernardo and Padilla as the movie made P15 million on its first day of showing.

In "She's Dating The Gangster," Padilla plays the role of Kenji, a "gangster" who attempts to win back his former girlfriend by entering a pretend relationship with Bernardo's character, Athena.

The film, which is based on the bestselling book by Bianca Bernardino, is directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina.
