MANILA -- Edray Teodoro of Team Bamboo showed that her unique and powerful voice gives her an edge in the competition.
On the live episode of "The Voice Kids" on Saturday, Teodoro sang Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful", a song that fit her perfectly.
She mentioned during her Blind auditions that she was bullied in school because of her weight.
During the rehearsals, Teodoro told her coach, Bamboo, that she somehow feels pressured because of the other contestants.
Bamboo advised her to just focus on the song and her performance.
"Focus on the song. As long as you satisfy yourself, that you gave your best, I am satisfied with your performance. We're happy with that," Bamboo said.
After her performance, Coach Sarah Geronimo commended Teodoro for her unique voice.
"You are very, very, very beautiful. That was very beautiful singing, at siyempre pa, one good thing about you Edray, kasi, you never let anyone tell you who and what you should be, especially in this competition, usong-uso ang mga bumibirit, pero never kang nagpapressure dun. You are original, keep it that way. At akala ko magaling ka noong Battles, noong Sing Offs, pero pinakamagaling ka tonight."
Bambo also expressed satisfaction with Teodoro's performance.
"You did it, you did it tonight. Lahat ng hiningi ko at gusto nating mangyari, you owned the stage. This whole area, this was yours. You are who you are, you have this extraordinary talent. That song cannot be sung any better."
Before her performance, actor Xian Lim wished Teodoro luck in the contest.
"Be ready to inspire more kids to dream big and sing bigger. Ibigay mo na ang lahat and continue to fight for your dreams, dahil deserve mo, and you have lots of talent," Lim said.
Lim also told Teodoro that he loves her, which left the young singer speechless.
