MANILA – British singer-songwriter Jessie J is one with Filipinos in praying for those who have been affected by typhoon “Glenda” (international name: Rammasun).

Typhoon “Glenda” shut down Metro Manila on Wednesday morning, claiming at least five lives and forcing hundreds of thousands to evacuate from their homes.

Due to the sheer strength of the typhoon's winds, large trees were uprooted, and unstable structures were damaged in Manila and other areas hit by the weather disturbance.

In her personal Instagram account on Wednesday afternoon, Jessie J posted a video showing a news clip on the typhoon in the Philippines.

In the caption, Jessie J wrote, unedited: “My prayers and thoughts are with everyone in Manila right now! I pray the storm passes quickly and no more people are hurt.”

Jessie J was just in the Philippines early this week for a one-night concert at the Araneta Coliseum last Monday.

The singer obviously enjoyed her experience in the country and has been busy posting pictures from her short visit to Manila.

Jessie J is the voice behind the international pop hits "Price Tag," "Who You Are," "Domino," and "Laserlight."
