MANILA, Philippines – A press group on Monday urged a news boycott on talent manager Annabelle Rama following her attack on entertainment columnist Chito Alcid at the wake of the late Comedy King Dolphy Quizon.

Jerry Yap, chairman of Alab ng Mamamahayag (ALAM), said Rama’s attack came after she filed a case against Alcid in Cebu.

Yap said he also reached out to Rama but received a tongue-lashing from the feisty talent manager.

Yap said he sees no reason why Rama would create a scene and attack Alcid during the wake of the Comedy King.

Rama has already apologized to the Quizon family for the commotion she caused, saying she was provoked by Alcid.

The ALAM chairman said Rama has become abusive towards reporters whom she does not agree with.

Yap asked media to boycott showbiz news about Rama. She also asked entertainment media to declare Rama a persona non-grata.
