MANILA – Matteo Guidicelli said there was no awkwardness when he and his former girlfriend, Maja Salvador, headlined some shows in the United States for The Filipino Channel just recently.
In an interview with the entertainment site Pep, Guidicelli said there is no reason for the two of them to feel awkward around each other because they have remained friends even after their breakup.
"Okay naman, nagulat nga po lahat ng mga tao eh. Dahil sabi nila, 'Matteo, ex mo 'yan, e. Hindi ba awkward?' Hindi naman dahil, you know, we respect each other. We're civil with each other. And we're friends," he said.
Guidicelli said he and Salvador are fortunate because both of them are in good places when it comes to their respective showbiz careers.
"Yeah, she's doing great in her career, di ba. So everything's good. There's no reason to hate one another…it's important, dapat happy lahat!" he said.
Salvador and Guidicelli were a couple for two years. They ended their relationship in August 2012 after mutually deciding that they should just concentrate on their respective careers.
Salvador is now in a relationship with Gerald Anderson, who used to court Sarah Geronimo until late 2012.

In an interview with "The Buzz" last week, Salvador said everything is okay among them and that there is no reason for people to make an issue about them.
"Kanina, si Sarah may mash-up pa nga kami kanina," Salvador said, referring to what she and the singer-actress did during last week's "ASAP" as they delivered spiels together.
As for Guidicelli, Salvador said: "Si Matteo nakasama ko siya sa show sa New Jersey sa TFC, sobrang okay naman. Makikita mo sa lahat na happy lahat."
The "The Legal Wife" actress noted that everyone is now happy with their respective relationships -- and that she will pray for this will continue.
