MANILA – Charlene Gonzales finally set the record straight following allegations that she and her husband, Aga Muhlach, have separated after being married for over a decade.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News' MJ Felipe, Gonzales said her marriage to Muhlach is getting stronger.

"We are happy. We've been married for 13 years and we just get stronger and stronger," she simply said.

"Right now, I'm just enjoying my time with my family while my kids are still on break. I really want to enjoy that time hanggang August na lang… Talagang we are really taking advantage of the time that they are on vacation and Aga's on vacation and I’m on vacation. We plan to go abroad, we don’t know yet where," she said.

Rumors that Gonzales and Muhlach decided to call it quits spread online last May, following a blind item detailing the separation of a celebrity couple.

In the blind item, Gonzales allegedly decided to end their relationship after she found out about the actor's affair with a 20-year-old dancer.

However, the couple agreed to keep their status private and just stay at the same house but sleep in separate bedrooms to protect their family's endorsements, the report added.

Meanwhile, Gonzales also spoke up about rumors saying Muhlach has already died.

"Oo [narinig ko yun], that’s why you can't believe everything you hear. Buhay na buhay siya," she said.

Asked how she and her children reacted when they first heard the false news, Gonzales said: “Wala. Kapag alam mo naman na hindi totoo, hindi mo naman papansinin. Hindi naman lahat ng bagay kailangan pansinin. No, it didn’t faze us because alam namin kung ano ang totoo.”

Gonzales said people probably miss seeing Muhlach on TV that’s why they are making up stories.

“I don’t know [kung bakit may ganun]. Siguro [nami-miss siya] kasi both of us are on break now and we are enjoying our time with the kids kasi bakasyon din nila ngayon. We really get to spend quality time with the kids now,” she said.

When asked if she plans to go back to acting, Gonzales said: "We'll see. It's something I haven’t done. I haven't acted for many many years so I don’t know. I've never really planned kung ano ang magiging takbo ng career ko but I've always been open to trying different things. But siyempre kailangan ko ipaalam sa asawa ko kung papayag siya. Kasi it's very time consuming."

Gonzales' last show in the Kapamilya network was "The Buzz," which she co-hosted from 2010 to 2013.
