"Thank you for the laughter."
This is the recurring message of Filipinos to their King of Comedy, Dolphy (Rodolfo V. Quizon), who died Tuesday night after losing his battle against chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Dolphy made Filipinos smile, laugh, and cry from laughing too much, and for a nation faced with so many problems, Dolphy was someone who helped them survive and go through life.
The 83-year-old comedian made 3 generations of Filipinos happier with Buhay Artista, John En Marsha, and Home Along Da Riles, among many other productions and performances.
Salamat, Tito Dolphy.
