Singer Ciara Sotto, daughter of showbiz couple Helen Gamboa and newly appointed chief of the Dangerous Drugs Board, former senator Tito Sotto, launched her newest album entitled "If You Love Me" at Teatrino in Greenhills, San Juan.
To promote the album, Sotto decided to take a two-week break out of her busy schedule preparing for her upcoming show entitled "Fever" in Las Vegas.
Sotto said that her latest CD is special to her because she is very involved in different aspects of its production.
The album is also special since some of the songs were written by her father and his longtime friend actor-singer Joey de Leon.
Her uncle Vic Sotto even shared his time to do back-up vocals together with his elder brother Tito for the song "Some Enchanted Evening."
The CD also includes the songs "Ang Tanging Tunay Kong Pag-ibig," "Kung Ako Man Ay Mahal Mo," "Kapalaran," "Charade," "Where Do We Go From Now," "Finally" and "For the First Time."
The CD is Sotto's second album. It is produced and distributed by Sony BMG Music.
Rumors on pregnancy
Rumors that Sotto was pregnant surfaced the moment she left the country. After living in Las Vegas for almost one year and three months, she returned home and broke her silence on these rumors.
She said that she cannot do anything if people indulge in such gossip.
"I accepted already kahit sinong umalis bigla, hindi ba talagang gagawan nila ng isyu na buntis? Tapos kapag nakita nila na hindi totoo, 'ay nagpa-abort'... I don't know why pero ganoon talaga, ganoon talaga mag-isip lalo na yung mga dirty mind," she said.
