MANILA -- Does Billy Crawford have a say on the roles Coleen Garcia can accept?
This question surfaced after Garcia revealed to ABS-CBN News and other reporters on Wednesday that her role in her upcoming movie “#Y” (read as ‘Hashtag Y’) for Cinemalaya is that of a promiscuous woman.
According to Garcia, Crawford is free to tell her whenever he’s uncomfortable about her roles but at the end of the day, she still has the last say.
“I actually told him what my role is about. He’s very supportive naman as long as it’s what I want. Siguro may mga reklamo siya pero wala siyang magagawa. At the end of the day siguro, when it comes to the two of us, if we’re not comfortable, we let each other know. But at the same time, we adjust for each other but not the point na we get in the way of each other’s work,” she said.
While they have yet to confirm that they are officially together, Garcia and Crawford have been vocal in saying they are each other's "someone special."
Meanwhile, Garcia said she is not worried that the perspective of the “madlang people” about her will change, saying she’s confident the viewers nowadays are discerning.
“I guess it’s part of it. It’s a good first Cinemalaya film because I’m really stepping out of the box. I really want to try different things din. Like dati, naging tomboy ako for ‘Showtime.’ I guess, it’s stepping out of that image,” she said.
This, Garcia explained, is one of the reasons why she loves being in show business.
“It’s not me naman, I’m not changing the way I am, I am not changing my views or my values. It’s just really being a different person. That’s what’s really exciting about it because I get to be a different person even just for a few days,” she said.
Also featuring Elmo Magalona, “#Y” is an entry to this year’s Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival.
