MANILA - Michela Cazzola was a picture of a proud girlfriend in Wednesday night's PBA Governors' Cup Finals, which saw the grand-slam win of San Mig Coffee led by James Yap.

San Mig Coffee defeated Rain or Shine, 92-89, in Game 5 of their finals clash inside the packed Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. More than 23,000 fans turned up at the event.

In his speech accepting his Most Valuable Player trophy, a jubilant Yap thanked the Coffee Mixers' fans, his family and supporters, as well as Cazzola, who was seen cheering him on throughout the game.

"Nagpapasalamat ako kay God, talagang ibinigay sa akin ito. And of course nagpapasalamat ako sa family ko, syempre nandito sila ngayon... sa girlfriend ko. And of course kay coach Tim [Cone], the best ka. Magaling ka talaga na coach," Yap said.

Last year, Cazzola also watched Yap as the Coffee Mixers clinched the PBA Governors' Cup title.

Yap was previously in a relationship with actress-host Kris Aquino, with whom he has a son, James "Bimby" Yap, Jr. The former couple's marriage was declared null in February last year.

Aquino, who recently reconciled with Yap after a controversial legal battle, has said she is happy for her former husband and Cazzola. She also thanked the Cazzola, who has expressed fondness of Bimby.
