ABS-CBN, ANC, Studio 23 to air Michael Jackson memorial live

MANILA - ABS-CBN will air a live coverage of Michael Jackson’s memorial service at the Staples Center arena in Los Angeles, California.  

The special coverage will be broadcast from 12:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. Wednesday, and will be simulcast on ABS-CBN, the ABS-CBN News Channel, and Studio 23. It will be anchored by veteran broadcast journalist Ces Drilon, with Gary Valenciano as a special guest.

There will also be live reports from ABS-CBN's North America bureau, led by bureau chief Ging Reyes, live from Los Angeles, California.

Major networks and entertainment channels in the United States and across the globe are expected to cover the massive memorial service.

Singers Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Usher and Lionel Richie, Motown records founder Berry Gordy, civil rights leader Al Sharpton, Martin Luther King III, and basketball stars Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant will be among those taking part in Jackson's memorial on Tuesday (US time).

The "Thriller" singer, who died June 25 of cardiac arrest at age 50, is expected to be buried in a private family service in Los Angeles on Tuesday morning, ahead of the public memorial. With Reuters
