MANILA – Raymart Santiago finally broke his silence as he opened up on his meeting with estranged wife Claudine Barretto and their two children, Santino and Sabina, which was captured in a viral photo.
Last week, the actress posted on Instagram photos of the four of them posing inside what appears to be a restaurant. "Happy day," she said in one caption.

In an interview with “The Buzz” on Tuesday, Santiago said he agreed to have the picture taken because it was their children who requested for it.
“'Yun 'yung oras ko sa mga anak ko. Sumunod na lang siya nung dinner at nag-request lang 'yung mga anak ko na magpa-picture kami. Hanggang doon na lang muna. Masaya ako,” he said.
Barretto, for her part, said she is happy about the breakthrough as well because their family became complete again, albeit temporarily.
“Masaya ako dahil kumpleto yung pamilya. Siyempre when my children are happy, wala namang mas ikatutuwa pa ng isang magulang kundi makita ang mga anak nilang masaya. Para sa akin, 'yun ang pinaka-ultimate happiness ko,” she said.
Two weeks since the couple was ordered by a Marikina court to face each other as part of a judicial dispute resolution, both Barretto and Santiago said they are open to becoming friends again in time.
“Hindi malayo,” Santiago briefly said.
“We failed as a couple already. Let’s not fail as parents. Sinabi ko kay Raymart, karirin na natin ang pagiging magulang. Yung forgiveness hindi pa. Mahirap mag-forgive kapag wala pang sorry. Pero siyempre gusto ko mawala yung kung ano mang galit and sama ng loob na meron pa,” Barretto said.
While things seem headed towards the right direction for the celebrity couple, is Barretto also open to reconciling with sisters Marjorie and Gretchen?
“Definitely not. Not in the near future if ever,” she said.
