MANILA, Philippines - Philippine football team Azkals threw a victory party on Sunday night after beating Sri Lanka's Brave Reds (4-0).
The Azkals' party were attended by their family, friends and supporters in and out of showbiz.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News reporter Gretchen Fullido, Azkals members Chieffy Caligdong and Aly Borromeo extended their appreciation to all who showed their support to the team.
"Malaking bagay ang home crowd. Kung di dahil sa kanila di namin magagawa 'yon. Kung wala sila, wala din kami dito. Ang game na 'yon para sa lahat di lang para sa amin," Caligdong said.
"Its the fans that kept us going," Borromeo added.
For Rob Gier, he said Sunday's victory was the fruit of all their hard work.
"We worked really hard for 2 and half years. This is a a reward for us. This has been an unbelievable experience," Gier said.
Also present in the party are celebrities like Crystalle Belo, Bubbles Paraiso, Michelle Madrigal and Maxene Magalona .
Phil kisses Angel
Angel Locsin, who is being wooed by Azkals heartthrob Phil Younghusband, was also present at the party.
Guests saw the two cozying up to each other, with Younghusband even giving the actress a kiss.
"I'm happy to be with Angel and I'm happy she came to watch. It inspired me. I hope she will watch future matches," said Younghusband who already asked the actress to watch their next match in Kuwait.
Locsin congratulated the whole team for a job well done.
"Well, of course, siyempre congratulations sa lahat ng kasali, nag-train, sumuporta. Congratulations sa lahat ng Filipino at sa players na magagaling. Congratulations!" she said.
