MANILA, Philippines -- Singer Zsa Zsa Padilla has been a constant presence at Dolphy's side through the good times and the bad, her daughter Karylle said.

Karylle, who is Padilla's daughter from a previous relationship, said her mother supports her long-time partner, comedy king Dolphy, even as he continues to suffer from an failing immune system.

The "It's Showtime" host on Friday said she continues to "silently support" her mother as Dolphy remains at the Makati Medical Center (MMC), where he is currently recovering.

"Siguro what I've been doing is I've been silently supporting," Karylle told members of the press during the launch of "Metro" magazine's July issue, where she is featured on the cover.

"For my mom, of course it's not easy for her. This has been going on for several years, but people didn't know about it because they have been very, very silent about it," she added.

'Getting better'

Like her mother and Dolphy's family members, Karylle said she is thankful for the tireless prayers for the recovery of the film icon.

Of late, the prayers have seemingly come to fruition, with the latest medical bulletin on Dolphy's condition reflecting nothing but good news for the screen legend.

"It's not the easiest of times," Karylle said, "but with overwhelming outpouring of love and support and prayers, things have gotten so much better. When I first got back and Tito Dolphy was in the ICU, napakalaki na po ng pagbabago, nung improvement."

As Dolphy's family mulls his transfer to a regular hospital room, his partner Padilla remains unmoved at his side, Karylle said.

"Of course my mom, she's been staying in the hospital, andu'n na 'yung kama niya. I'm just there for them. Ako minsan tagabili nila ng food, minsan kukulitin ko sila, 'Kain na tayo, tulog na,'" Karylle said.

'Lovey' moments

Despite not being able to speak, Dolphy, according to his son Eric Quizon, continues to be affectionate to Padilla during the trying times.

After mouthing "I love you" to her on Wednesday, Dolphy continues to interact with Padilla and his family members.

"Yesterday, for example, sabi ni Zsa Zsa, 'Lovey, kiss!' Talagang ngumuso siya, gumanon, ta's nag-kiss sila," Quizon said on Friday.

Dolphy may also be discharged from the intensive care unit of the MMC as his condition continues to improve, according to Quizon.
