MANILA, Philippines – Despite the condition of her long-time partner Dolphy, singer Zsa Zsa Padilla said she still hopes to finish her upcoming musical comedy film “I Do Beedoo Beedoo.”

Padilla co-stars the musical comedy film with comdienne Eugene Domingo and singers Ogie Alcasid and Gary Valenciano. The movie features songs by the APO Hiking Society.

“Sa pag-arte, ngayon pa lang kami ni Gary. Ang weird nga, sabi ko sa kanya okay ka lang? Pinag-aaway kami! May chemistry naman kami,” she told ABS-CBN News in an exclusive interview last May 30.

Padilla was halfway through shooting the movie in May when Dolphy’s condition worsened.

Dolphy has been confined in the intensive care unit of the Makati Medical Center since June 9.

The country's "Comedy King" has been suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, which hinders the flow of air to the lungs. The condition is generally permanent and may be progressive over time.

Dolphy has also been undergoing dialysis to support his weakened kidneys, which have been affected due to medical complications.

Padilla said it has not been easy for any of them but she admires the veteran actor’s will power to get through this ordeal.

“It hasn't been easy. He has been fighting for his life for a couple of years now. Bilib din ako sa kanya hindi siya nagrereklamo at mabait siyang pasyente,” she said.

Meantime, Padilla revealed that she’s also praying for good health for herself.

“It's time to ask for myself good health also so I can take care of them. Iyan ang wish ko para sa pamilya,” she said. – from a report by Mario Dumaual, ABS-CBN News
