MANILA – Kris Aquino on Thursday turned sentimental as she marked her "debut" as a talk show host on ABS-CBN.
In an Instagram post, Aquino said she feels fortunate to be allowed to be part of Filipinos' everyday lives for the past 18 years via her TV shows.
"It has been 18 wonderful years of being a Kapamilya & I thank my bosses, co-workers & you my audience for having the patience to allow me to grow up, experience life, and I want to believe inspire all of you to have faith, work hard, share blessings, and appreciate everything that life has to offer," she said.
Aquino also shared that her current morning show, "Kris TV," is now on its fourth year.
"Today, June 26, 2014, is the last day of the 3rd year of Kris TV. Tomorrow is our anniversary but in actuality it's really the start of year 4... You welcomed me back as part of your morning habit June 27, 2011... It's so gratifying that you've stuck it out & in fact have come to enjoy the "reality" of me being Kris," she said.
Aquino, whose contract with ABS-CBN was just renewed last January, has been in showbiz since 1992. From a young actress, she made a turn as a popular TV host in 1996 with ABS-CBN's "Today with Kris Aquino."
She went on to host several other programs, including game shows like "Game KNB?", while taking up a number of acting projects. Notably, she was tagged as a "horror movie queen" for her string of blockbuster films in the genre.
Her more recent projects include consecutive judging stints on "Pilipinas Got Talent" across four seasons, and the primetime drama series "Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw." Currently, Aquino hosts the talk and travel program "Kris TV," the showbiz-oriented talk show "The Buzz" and her late night program "Aquino & Abunda Tonight," which she co-hosts with Boy Abunda.
With all these under her belt, Aquino said: "This 2014 is my 'debut' as a talk show host, MASARAP PALA MAGING ADULT! #lovelovelove."
