'4 Sisters and a Wedding' kicks off Star Cinema's 20th anniversary
MANILA, Philippines -- Kapamilya actress Shaina Magdayao and her co-stars in "Four Sisters and a Wedding" turned heads Tuesday when they turned up at the premiere night of the movie in matching black dresses.
Hundreds of fans flocked to the SM Megamall cinemas in Mandaluyong City to catch a glimpse of the film's all-star cast led by Magdayao along with Angel Locsin, Toni Gonzaga, Bea Alonzo and Enchong Dee.
In the film, which opens in theaters nationwide on Wednesday (June 26), sisters Teddie (Gonzaga), Bobbie (Alonzo), Alex (Locsin) and Gabbie (Magdayao) gather home for a "big event" -- their youngest sibling's (Enchong Dee) wedding.
However, the four sisters, left with a foul impression after meeting the bride's family, conspire to block the wedding. As they scheme to "save" their only brother, the siblings are also forced to face problems in their family.
The film also stars Connie Reyes, Sam Milby, Carmi Martin, Boboy Garovillo and Bernard Palanca.
Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, "Four Sisters and a Wedding" serves as the opening salvo of Star Cinema's year-long 20th anniversary celebration.
At the film's premiere night Tuesday, its four female lead stars wowed fans as well as social media spectators as they arrived wearing black gowns, with Magdayao particularly getting raves for her Charina Sarte-designed, cleavage-baring sheer dress.
Also seen at the premiere night were Philippine Azkals striker Phil Yonghusband, film director Paul Soriano and actor Zanjoe Marudo, the respective partners of Locsin, Gonzaga and Alonzo.
