MANILA -- Actress Ruffa Gutierrez marked a milestone on Tuesday as she turned 40.
In her official Instagram account, Gutierrez shared photos of her surprise "salubong," which was held at a hotel on Monday.
"I was tricked into going to Chi Spa and was literally pushed to my big surprise party," she wrote in the caption, as she thanked celebrity host Tim Yap for organizing the party.
"Thank you to my family & friends!!! I was sooo shocked. Totally unexpected!" she added.
She also posted photos from the event, including one showing her with her father, veteran actor Eddie Gutierrez.
"Precious & emotional moment last night at my salubong when Dad gave a short speech and his voice broke," she wrote in the caption. "I'll always be your one & only Daddy's girl!!"
Apart from being an actress, she is also a beauty queen, having won second runner-up at the Miss World pageant in 1993.
After her failed marriage to Turkish businessman Yilmaz Bektas, Gutierrez returned to the country with her two daughters and has returned to local show business.
Gutierrez's most recent movie was the romantic film "Maybe This Time" with Coco Martin and Sarah Geronimo.
