MANILA -- "Cheche Lazaro Presents" aired its final episode on Sunday night after a four-year run on ABS-CBN.

Anchored by award-winning journalist Cheche Lazaro, the show's last episode, "Kapag Tumibok Ang Puso," tackled the mysteries of love with radio disc jockey John "Papa Jack" Gemperle, newly weds Boots Anson Roa and Atty. Francisco “King” Rodrigo and celebrity couple Winnie Monsod and Christian Monsod.

The program probed why women fall for womanizers and why husbands go astray. It also tackled why people sometimes kill for love.

Four four years, "Cheche Lazaro Presents" produced quality documentaries that explored political issues, pop culture and social issues.

The program tackled diverse topics, such as Filipinos’ fondness for teleseryes, the government’s poverty-reduction strategy, the evolution of the Filipino language, homosexuality, and Filipinos’ natural musical talent.

The show won Best TV Special at the 33rd Catholic Mass Media Awards and Best Documentary Special at the 26th Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Television.

While the program successfully produced documentaries with compelling storytelling and extraordinary production values, Probe Productions Inc., the producer of “Cheche Lazaro Presents,” has decided to pursue other interests as an independent media production company.

Despite the departure of the program, ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs said it will continue to work together with Probe Productions Inc. in producing quality documentaries and long-form programs in the future.
