Estrada, who was accompanied by Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno, went to hospital's intensive care unit (ICU) where Dolphy is currently confined.
Estrada said Dolphy was responsive during his visit, and would nod as the former head of state communicated with his long-time friend.
The former President also said he bears no ill feelings toward Dolphy having supported Senator Manny Villar in the last presidential elections.
He said he will offer a mass at the Pinaglabanan Church in San Juan for the recovery of Dolphy.
On the growing clamor to confer on Dolphy the National Artist award, Estrada said it has been long overdue, and should be conferred on his long-time friend.
On Saturday morning, an update from the Makati Medical Center said Dolphy's vital signs slightly improved and he underwent dialysis during the day.
