MANILA - The father of "Pinoy Big Brother" (PBB) housemate Joshua Garcia couldn't hold back tears after he was allowed to see his son again after more than 2 months.
Geo Garcia, the father of the 16-year-old, visited the famous yellow house to give advice regarding his son's ongoing "love triangle" woes involving teens Loisa Andalio and actress Jane Oineza.
"Pumayat ka ah, parang puso lang ang tumataba," Geo said upon seeing his son, who was asked to freeze in his position for the duration of his father's visit.
The older Garcia went on to warn his son about the dangers of falling in love easily and the importance of standing up for himself, especially when it comes to charting his own future.
"Mag-breakfast ka. Alam ko hindi ka nagbre-breaktfast kahit sa atin. At kahit nangangayayat ka na, lagi pa rin kaming nakasupporta sa iyo," he added.
As the father and son shared the touching moment, several housemates, including Oineza and Andalio, were seen to be turning visibly emotional. Celebrity teen housemate Nichole Baranda couldn't hold back the sobs.
"I love you anak," Geo said, before kissing his son the cheek as he made his way back to the house's confession room. "Masayang-masaya po ako. Nagpapasalamat po ako sa inyo, Kuya," he said.
Moments after, Joshua was crowded by his fellow housemates. Each tried to console the teenager, while also trying to wipe away their own tears.
"Gustong gusto ko siyang yakapin pero hindi po ako makagalaw. 'Yun mga oras na 'yun sa tingin ko kailangan ko talaga ng lakas sa mga problema na nangyayari sa akin ngayon," he said.
"Tapos ngayon Kuya, mas naging malakas na ako, matatag ako," he added.
This is the second time Joshua was visited by one of his parents. Last month, he was visited by his mother Fe, whom he hasn't seen since he was 5 years old.
As the episode aired, several terms relating to the reality television show dominated social conversations.
The show's official hashtag #PBBTigilGalaw became the number one trending topic worldwide on microblogging site Twitter.
Other phrases such as "Daddy Geo" and "Teen King & Teen Queen" were also among the top local trends.
The latter was in response to a teaser the show aired about possible visitors to the "PBB" house.
